Rejoice! Fall Dinner Dance Honoring the DeMarmels Family
Please Join Us!
On Saturday, November 8, St. Stephen’s will hold its third annual Rejoice! Dinner Dance where we come together as a parish community to celebrate friendship, comradery and all that makes us one in our faith. We invite all parishioners to come and enjoy the evening. Proceeds from this year’s dinner dance will support a new Rosary Garden to be built by the Knights of Columbus.
This year, we are thrilled to honor the DeMarmels Family as part of the Rejoice! festivities. Albert DeMarmels from Switzerland and Bridget Gallagher from Ireland each made their way to America in the mid-1920’s. They met in New York City, were married in 1940 after which they moved to Foley Road in Warwick, NY. They and their five children – Marie, Albert, Michael, Peter and Jerry – lived and worked on the farm and were an active part of the farming community.
The DeMarmels forged many lifelong friendships with the farming community, and this became woven into the community at St. Stephens Parish. Albert and Bridget were steadfast parishioners and many of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have continued in their footsteps.
